The Center for Community Engagement supports a range of democratic engagement programs and partnerships. MiddVotes and Civics in Action are SGA approved student organizations that are advised by the CCE and receive additional leadership training and monthly workshops through our Community Engagement Organization Board.

MiddVotes works in a non-partisan manner to increase voter participation, civic awareness, and community engagement on Middlebury’s campus and in the greater Addison County community. We host voter registration drives and other events on-campus to encourage our College community members to be enthusiastic and informed voters. If you need assistance registering to vote or obtaining an absentee ballot for an upcoming election, or if you wish to join the MiddVotes team, please email us at

In addition to “Get Out the Votes” efforts, MiddVotes hosts and sponsors events that provide spaces for students to have productive discussions about civic engagement. MiddVotes works to foster stronger connections between the student body and local politics here in Vermont.
