Accessing the College Network

Mail Access & Academic Servers:
Although you do not have a college-owned computer in your office, you do have an email account and access to the servers, which are accessible from your personally-owned computer or from the computer labs on campus. Computer labs are in McCardell Bicentennial Hall, Munroe, Sunderland, Axinn, and the Davis Family Library.

You can access your email using Outlook Web App at http://go.middlebury.edu/mail.

Information on connecting to and using file servers from a Windows computer can be found at http://mediawiki.middlebury.edu/wiki/LIS/Using_File_Servers_(Windows).

Information on connecting to and using file servers from a Macintosh computer can be found at http://mediawiki.middlebury.edu/wiki/LIS/Using_File_Servers_(Macintosh).

If you have questions or problems, please contact your Library Liaison or the Helpdesk at (802) 443-2200.

Logging on to the Network:
You can plug your computer into the hard-wired college network using any network jack on campus (the red jack is usually the active one). Wireless networks are widely available.  Use your college username and password to log into the midd_secure network.  The midd-standard network requires a different password; please call the Helpdesk at (802) 443-2200 to get this unpublished password.

You can find instructions on many of the procedures you will need by pointing your browser to http://go.middlebury.edu/wikidocs.

The Helpdesk is also available to assist you. Please contact them at (802) 443-2200 with your questions.
