"As a science major at Middlebury, I
used cutting-edge instrumentation on
my own, while students at other schools
either had never heard about these
instruments, or are not allowed to use

Michelle Personick '09, Northwestern Ph.D. Program '13
"My Middlebury Chemistry education has better prepared me
for grad school because I had the experience of carrying
out an involved, independent research project from
beginning to end without the constant supervision of a
graduate student. I've had significantly more writing and
presentation experience than the majority of my peers,
and my professors have commented on the strength of my writing abilities."
