The Dance Company of Middlebury
The Dance Company of Middlebury (DCM) is an essential component of our advanced studio course offerings. It is a credit-bearing course, open by audition to sophomores through seniors, that requires two semesters of participation for one academic credit. DCM reinvents itself every year under the direction of a different dance faculty member or guest artist and offers our students opportunities to explore collaborative, interdisciplinary, and community engagement projects through dance. Typically, the company develops a concert of new work during the fall and presents an informal showing/discussion of work-in-progress in December. In January, they put finishing touches on the concert and fully produce two evening-length concerts toward the end of the month. During the last week of Winter Term, DCM takes their work on the road touring regionally, nationally, or even internationally.
