Quinn Bernegger '13

Tenor Quinn Bernegger has been recognized across musical styles for his “great vocal agility” and “excellent characterization.” This summer, he was praised by Opera News as an “appealing” Henrik Egerman in Des Moines Metro Opera’s production of Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. Equally at home in opera, musical theater, and early music, Mr. Bernegger has been seen at regional houses and concert venues around the Northeast. He performed at Chautauqua Opera as Nanki-Poo in Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado and at Tri-Cities Opera as a Resident Artist, singing roles in Sondheim’s  Sweeney Todd (Beadle Bamford), Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti (the Jazz Trio), and Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta (Alméric). Mr. Bernegger is a recipient of numerous distinctions, including first place in The American Prize last year and selection as a finalist in the FAVA Grand Concours competition in 2015. A native of Cooperstown, NY, he earned his Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College and is currently pursuing a graduate diploma in opera performance at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where has performed as Oronte in Handel’s Alcina and Fenton in The Merry Wives of Windsor. Upcoming performances include Ferrando in Così fan tutte and Lenksy in Eugene Onegin at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. In the summer, he will join Opera Saratoga as an Apprentice Artist, appearing in roles in The Merry Widow and the professional premiere of David T. Little’s Vinkensport, or The Finch Opera.
