Early or Regular?

Candidates who have identified Middlebury as their first choice are invited to apply for an Early Decision (ED). ED candidates may be admitted for entrance in the fall or entrance in the spring, denied admission, or deferred for reconsideration with the Regular Decision applicants.

ED candidates may not apply to other colleges for an Early Decision and must agree to enroll and withdraw applications to other colleges if admitted. Middlebury will withdraw an offer of admission if a student fails to comply with these stipulations.

Results of the October ACT or the November SAT I or II will normally arrive in time to be reviewed for Early Decision 1, and tests taken during December will usually arrive in time to be considered for Early Decision 2. Tests taken in January will not arrive in time to be used for Early Decision 2 or Regular Decision.
