Having had a great Middlebury experience as a student, Jean was very excited to join the Admissions office as a recent graduate. She received her bachelor's degree in Japanese Studies but also became interested in education and social justice issues relating to race, class, sexual orientation, and gender identity. She greatly enjoys working at Emma Willard House, but when she needs a break during the busy winter season, she often escapes to the backcountry ski trails behind the Robert Frost cabin in Ripton, VT. Born and raised in New York City, she had her sights on returning to an urban area after moving to rural New Hampshire in 2001. However, she did not anticipate falling in love with the Green Mountain State and now she hopes to make Vermont her permanent home.
