Sara Cohen graduated from Middlebury College in May 2012 with a degree in English and American literature and two minors in American History and French. She first experienced the work of the Emma Willard House during her senior year while working as a Senior Fellow, and she is delighted to return to Middlebury this year as counselor. As a student, Sara was active in Residential Life in both Cook and Atwater Commons, served on the Academic Judicial Board and worked as an academic mentor for first year students. During her senior year, she volunteered as an Event Co-Chair of the Senior Committee, coordinating fundraising among her class and organizing class-wide social events. Over her junior winter and spring, Sara studied in Bordeaux, France where she enrolled in a local university, lived with a host family, and completed an internship with the French Red Cross providing reduced-cost childcare supplies to local families.
In her free time, Sara enjoys exploring the roads and trails of the Vermont countryside while hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. She also enjoys the many food festivals and farmers markets in and around Middlebury as well as sampling local restaurants. While a proud native of Bethesda, Maryland, Sara fell in love with Middlebury as a student and is thrilled to return to campus and make her home up north in Vermont.
