Middlebury College Museum of Art, Overbrook Gallery
Paintings, prints, and photographs from the Museum’s permanent collection are the basis of this exhibition focused on the idea and the presentation of celebrity. Highlights include Polaroid portraits by Andy Warhol and photographs of famous men by Arnold Newman. Free

Bread Loaf Acting Ensemble:
Mad Forest
8:00 P.M. each evening, Burgess Meredith Little Theatre, Bread Loaf mountain campus
Each summer, the Bread Loaf School of English brings professional actors to the Vermont campus to assist in mounting the summer’s major production. This year, they present Caryl Churchill's Mad Forest, an incisive drama focusing on the Romanian revolution of 1989. Tickets are free, but reservations are required. Summer Carillon Series: Alexander Solovov
7:00 P.M., Mead Chapel and surrounding lawns
Mr. Solovov hails from Middlebnury's Russian School and Belgium Carillon School. This 25th Annual Summer Carillon Concert season features a particularly fine group of musicians, performing from the soaring tower of Mead Chapel. The melodic sounds of the carillon bells are a staple of summer life on the Middlebury campus. Free

German School:German for Singers Concert

As young, up-and-coming opera singers, the students in the German for Singers and Vocal Coaches Program will once again perform a variety of arias, Lieder, and other forms of German art song from composers spanning the classical to modern periods, including Schumann, Mozart, Brahms, Strauss, Schubert, and Wolf, among others. Please accept this reminder to respect the Language Pledge, a formal commitment on the part of all of our students to speak, listen, read, and write the language of study as the only means of communication for the session.
