Formal Concert Hoped to Go On As Scheduled on Thursday, March 13

The Quartet has arrived safely in Middlebury, so we will proceed with tonight's 7:30 PM concert as planned.  Though the audience may be smaller, the concert should be an intimate experience for those who do venture out. Please use your best judgment when deciding if it's safe for you to travel.

Middlebury, VT—Due to Winter Storm Vulcan’s effects on travel throughout the northeast, the Elias String Quartet’s lecture-demonstration, planned for Wednesday, March 12 at 4:30 P.M., has been canceled. However, the Quartet’s formal concert on Thursday, March 13 at 7:30 P.M. is still planned to go on as scheduled at the Concert Hall of the Mahaney Center for the Arts. As the weather develops, patrons may check the website http://www.middlebury.edu/arts or call 802.443.MIDD (6433) for updates.

The Thursday concert, presented by the Middlebury College Performing Arts Series, will feature Beethoven’s Quartet no. 4 in C Minor, Beethoven’s second “Razumovsky” quartet, and Kurtag’s Officium breve in memoriam Andreae Szervánszky. The concert is free and open to the public, thanks to the Institute for Clinical Science and Art. No tickets are required; seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
