Middlebury College's Bread Loaf Campus

In addition to local lodging, we offer simple and affordable dorm-style housing for families during MiddView (on Monday, September 2nd only) at Middlebury College's Bread Loaf campus. Deadline to register is Sunday, August 11th. Bread Loaf is located in the rural town of Ripton, approximately 20 minutes east of the College. Although the Ripton General Store is a five-minute drive from Bread Loaf, restaurants and retail services are fifteen minutes away in East Middlebury. Guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from Bread Loaf. WiFi and breakfast are provided. Please note that bathroom facilities are typically shared, and fans and air conditioners are not provided. Cell phone service at Bread Loaf is limited.

The cost is $50 per person. Bread Loaf rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the need for advanced preparation, payments cannot be refunded after August 14th.

The first time during the year we open Bread Loaf lodging is to families participating in First@Midd, a pre-orientation program for students who are the first in their families to attend a four-year college, also known as first-generation.  The First@Midd family program runs from August 29-August 30. Families who want to participate in First@Midd should register for the family program here by July 8. Bread Loaf lodging is available only on Thursday 8/29 and Friday 8/30 for families. Families who are interested in staying at Bread Loaf during First@Midd should contact afc@middlebury.edu or jherrera@middlebury.edu.
