Programs on Creativity and Innovation in the Liberal Arts (PCI) was established in 2007 to help emphasize and center intellectual risk taking and creative problem solving in students' experiences at Middlebury College. We provide mentorship, access to a broad network of alumni and partners, financial support and designated workspaces around campus for individual and group projects.

Current programs include:

Middlebury Entrepreneurs

A winter term course for students who want to start their own business or nonprofit organization


An independently organized event based on the international TED experience


A competition for the opportunity to take your idea to the next level in business, social entrepreneurship, the arts, or education and outreach


A student organization fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship throughout the Middlebury community


A network of microphilanthropy supporting Middlebury students and their ideas

Projects for Peace

A worldwide program accepting proposals from motivated students who want to create and test their own ideas for building peace

Tree House Fund

Annual financial support for creative student projects that benefit Middlebury students, the environment, or the community

New Millennium Fund

A fund supporting student interns who wish to work for Vermont-based start-ups, small companies, venture firms, and innovative nonprofits or nongovernmental organizations
