2025 Alumni Survey
What does Middlebury’s future look like? It starts with you.
Every five years, Middlebury surveys all alumni to understand their experiences, the impact of their education, and how they prefer to engage with Middlebury.
This year, the survey will begin on February 19 and be open for responses through mid-March. Each alum will receive an email with a personalized link to the survey, as well as follow-up emails to those from whom we haven’t heard.
The survey will help to guide Middlebury’s future, so your participation is essential. The survey is the key way we gather information on a Middlebury education. We want to know about what our alumni experienced as students, what they are doing now, and how their Middlebury education may have contributed to their lives after graduation. The five-year survey is the institution’s best source of information on the overall Middlebury experience.
Some email service providers mark Middlebury emails as spam and automatically move them to spam or junk folders. If you do not receive an email asking you to fill out the survey, please check your spam folder or email ca_records@middlebury.edu.
- Current activity
- Additional degrees
- Reflections on the Middlebury experience
- Reflections about the quality of a Middlebury education
- Communication and engagement preferences
- Demographics
- Open-ended questions
This survey is the single most important source of information about the Middlebury experience and its impact. We conduct these surveys to learn what our alumni are doing and how their education supported their development and may have contributed to their lives after graduation. Results will inform Middlebury’s future direction.
All data collected will be shared in aggregate with stakeholders across the institution, including senior administrators, faculty, and staff in key areas. For example, staff members in CCI will study the questions relating to careers and career preparation in order to improve services to students and alumni.
No, you will be able to opt out of responding to questions. The only time a response is required is when it will be linked to follow-up questions. For example, if you attended a Middlebury Schools Abroad program during your undergraduate years you will be asked a yes/no question about attendance. If you answer yes, you will be asked a series of questions about that experience. However, you do not have to answer specific questions in the new section.
All information collected will be for institutional use only. Responses will be summarized in aggregate and an individual’s responses will not be identifiable in reporting trends. Information on individuals collected in the “current activity” and “demographic” categories will be used to update alumni records.
Yes, your link is personalized to you. You can return to the survey at a later time and the survey will begin when you left off.
A summary of the results will be posted on the Middlebury website and will be shared through the Middlebury Connections alumni newsletter and other communications.
