Middlebury staff are the boots on the ground doing so much of the important work to change our institutional climate impact and engage our community on climate-related learning and experiences.
Existing Programs through Sustainability and Environmental Affairs
- Opportunities to employ interns to work on sustainability and/or climate projects in your office or department supported by the Sustainability Solutions Lab (SSL)
- In Action: Facilities has partners with SSL to employ interns working on the Living Building Challenge for several years with great success for greening our buildings and spaces on campus
- Join Environmental Council and work with faculty and students to shape College policies
On and Off Campus
- Perform an Energy Audit, Weatherize, and Update your home
- Turn off the lights and power strips in your office to save energy

- Sign up for the SEA newsletter
- Let us know what you’re doing: submit your stories of action and desired resources/proposed efforts to the SEA team
Propose or Host an Event or Program
- Whether you work in facilities, counseling, or the Chellis house, there’s always a gathering, training, or speaker event that could help support staff and student engagement on climate change. Suggest, promote, and request funding for your ideas!
- In Action:
- The Innovation Hub hosts in-depth Vermont Ventures trips to local companies at the cutting edge of innovation and entrepreneurship, including Beta Technologies and Aqua Vitea.
- The Center for Careers and Internships and the Climate Action Program have partnered on various events highlighting alumni leading climate work.
