    Join midd.data for a Lightning Talk with Michelle Leftheris (Studio Art). NOWSPACE is an online, live-streaming observatory which collects video from cameras pointed at the sky across North America. In this immersive, web-based artwork, multiple streams are collaged into singular compositions of a synthesized view of the nation’s skies.

    The Tlingit People of Sitka, Alaska as Portrayed by Elbridge Merrill, an American Photographer (1899-1929)

    Elbridge W. Merrill (1870-1929), a talented professional photographer from New England, spent thirty years in the town of Sitka, Alaska documenting the life of its multiethnic population: Tlingit Indians, Russian Creoles and Euro-Americans. Merrill’s images of the local indigenous people’s ceremonial and daily life are particularly striking. They are both beautiful and a major source of historical information on the rich culture of the Tlingit people.

    Body Process

    The Counseling Center presents “Body Process”: a counseling group to help students explore and process their relationships with their bodies. This is a confidential space for students to explore this issue with counseling interns Dana Williams and Sam Rothberg. The group will occur once per week on Thursdays from 1-2pm for the spring semester.

    Knoll Garden Volunteer Hours, open to all Middlebury students. The Knoll serves as a site to explore topics of connection, resilience, and regeneration. The garden has been almost entirely powered by volunteers and interns for 19 years, and we are grateful you are here.

    Log Rolling Practice! Come down to the Natatorium to join us at log rolling. Anyone and everyone is welcome, no experience is necessary.     Blood Bound: On Period Poverty

    Poverty infringes on personal autonomy in a myriad of ways. Having grown up homeless and largely dependent on the resources of social equity NGO’s, Treasure Brooks took issue with the limited menstrual products offered to people in need. In her talk “Blood Bound,” Brooks will reflect on her early work as a menstruation activist and creator of “Operation T.O.M.,” a grassroots organization designed to disseminate high quality menstruation products to houseless gender marginalized people.

  • Kitchen Table Conversations #2: BIPOC-Themed Research and Teaching in Middlebury

    Viola Huang (Black Studies and German) and Matthew Schrader (Studio Art) will discuss their BIPOC Research and Teaching in Middlebury College. Their focus will be their scholar and pedagogical approaches to the history of monuments and their spaces and how they are connected to both the history of racism and the fight against white supremacy.

    Zoom Talk with Shlomi Alon - from “HaDag Nachash” band

    A Zoom talk with Shlomi Alon, a well-known and active musician in Israel - as a playing musician (he plays the saxophone, flute and other musical instruments), as a composer, as a songwriter and as a singer.

    Shlomi is one of the founders and members of “HaDag Nachash” - a band that celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. This is the most popular and successful band in Israel.

    Artist Talk with Omari Wiles: Vogue Fem Residency

    Come and Listen to New York-based Dancer and Choreographer Omari Wiles as he shares his Dance journey and experience in the Ballroom community. Wiles began his training in West African dance as a child, and himself learning, training and falling in love with other styles such as Hip-Hop, House, Modern, Jazz, and Vogue. Wiles has had the opportunity to work with many artists, featuring his range of dance. His choreography has been featured with Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, John Legend, Jidenna, and Rashaad Newsome, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and many more.
