Projects and New Initiatives
There are many departments at Middlebury, and we in ITS strive to serve our community well. Aside from upkeep of existing systems, we know that our technology landscape is ever evolving and want to be a resource to your departments as you initiate projects that serve our students and community more effectively.
Help us help you
Projects and new initiatives almost always require some degree of ITS involvement. Early information helps us plan when and how to support you. By keeping us informed, we can help determine the ITS resources needed (staff time, changes or additions to systems, etc.) for your initiative to succeed. Without this information, it becomes difficult to schedule work and we struggle to meet your needs in a timely and effective manner. We want to serve you well, but we need your help to do so.
What’s the best time to get ITS involved?
Immediately. As soon as you know you want to do something that may involve Middlebury technology resources, reach out!
This is a much broader category than many realize. A good guideline is that if something connects to the Internet, stores information about people, or needs people to sign in, you should contact ITS.
We would rather you contact us unnecessarily than risk your project’s success because of unanticipated technology needs. We’re here to help you, even when you’re not sure yet what help you need.
What if I just want to make improvements or enhancements?
If you don’t have a specific project in mind but want to work more efficiently, please reach out! We can provide help with business process improvement by helping you map out your workflows and resolve pain points. We’ll work together to figure out better ways to use your current tools or help you start using other existing enterprise technology.
How do I contact ITS?
Contacting us via TDX helps your request get to the right people as quickly as possible. When we receive your request, we’ll schedule a Discovery call to discuss your needs in more detail.
You can read more about our process for assessing requests here.
