Research Support Policy
Our research support services are open to everyone, and we encourage you to contact a librarian in person or online to describe your information need. Our interactions with you will be guided by the policies below.
Timing
Our Email a Middlebury Librarian page sends a message to all Middlebury librarians. We strive to respond to messages within 24 hours. Responses may take longer on Saturdays and during College breaks.
Privacy
The Ask a Librarian section of our Privacy and Security of Library Records page describes privacy expectations for online research support.
Priority
Questions from Middlebury College students, faculty and staff receive the highest priority. We also answer questions pertaining to Middlebury College as quickly as possible.
Questions from the Media
In most cases, we are unable to speak on behalf of the college or the library. Questions from the media will be answered by the person or office who is best suited to meeting the information need. Some questions will be redirected to the Media Relations contact at the Office of Communications and Marketing.
