Research Desk Closure
Happy New Year!
As some of you may have seen in the Middlebury Campus article, Davis Family Library’s Research Desk closed at the end of the Fall 2025 term. The closure of the Research Desk is the end of a service model better suited to another era but not the end of Research and Data Services.
Research, Instruction, and Data Librarians are still here to support students and faculty through scheduled research consultations, drop in office visits, and customized course workshops and clinics. We enthusiastically encourage you to make an appointment with us or just drop by our offices on the main floor of Davis behind the former research desk, our doors are open. STEM Librarians Sariaka Sharma and Laksamee Cave are also holding weekly office hours in the QCenter. We would love to dig into complicated research, help you organize your data, or just chat about information in the AI era.
For quick questions, you can still contact us through our chat service, go/askus. Chat questions are answered by a librarian or other library staff, not a bot. Hours for the Spring term will be M-Th 10AM- 4PM, F 10AM-3PM.
