Known for her wit in both comedic and dramatic roles, she had an extensive career on stage and screen for over seven decades and was one of Britain’s most recognizable and prolific actresses.”— Provided by Wikipedia.

Recommendation from Joseph Watson, Preservation Manager, Special Collections Associate:

The amazing actress Maggie Smith recently passed away, and I’ve been rewatching her movies, and discovering a few I hadn’t seen. While she’s recently become famous for the Harry Potter movies and the TV series Downton Abbey, she’s had an amazing career long before those appearances. She won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie in 1970, and won the Best Actress British Film Award in 2016 for Lady in the Van.
