Welcome, Alyssa Walker
Please help us welcome Alyssa Walker to Davis Family Library! Alyssa will serve as Digital Records Archivist in Special Collections. Her first day is June 23.
Alyssa comes to Middlebury from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, where she worked as a records management analyst. Prior to that, she was a metadata intern at the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History. In her previous career, she held programming strategy roles at various media companies, including Rooster Teeth, Vice, and Comedy Central. She received her BS in Television-Radio from Ithaca College and her MS in Information Studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
Alyssa is a Certified Records Manager and an active member of the Institute of Certified Records Managers, currently volunteering on their Exam Development Committee. She has also volunteered with several groups in the Austin area, including Inside Books Project, Central Texas Food Bank, and the Austin History Center Association’s Oral History Committee.
Alyssa grew up in Rochester, NY, and has since lived in Northern Virginia, Brooklyn, NY, and Austin, TX. She’s excited to join the Middlebury community and start exploring Vermont! She loves trying new restaurants, going to the movies, and visiting state parks.
