Welcome Caro
Please help the Davis Family Library welcome Caro Pinto! Caro will serve as the Humanities & Social Sciences Librarian. Her first day will be March 2nd.
Caro comes to us from Mount Holyoke College where she worked in a variety of roles since 2013. Previously, she was a manuscript librarian at Yale University’s Sterling Memorial Library and the Critical Social Inquiry Librarian at Hampshire College. Caro holds an AB in history from Smith College, an MA in history from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an MS in Library and Information Science from Simmons University.
Caro is active in information literacy research and professional service. In addition to the various presentations she gives at local and national conferences, she’s published or co-published several book chapters from ACRL Press; one on digital humanities and subject librarians, a second on critical pedagogy in liberal arts education, a third about contemplative pedagogy, and most recently, a hybrid form essay on how to thrive as a mid-career librarian. Her written work has also appeared in The Chronicle of Higher Education, Archive Journal, and In the Library with the Lead Pipe. A member of the Association of College and Research Libraries, she served on committees in the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section, the Women’s and Gender Studies Section, and the ACRL Conference Coordinating Committee.
Caro is excited to get to know the Middlebury community. Ask her about her spotted cat, what she read recently, what her Connections streak is, or about the rising fortunes of the New England Patriots.
