International Trade and Economic Diplomacy Semester
Middlebury in DC hosts the final semester of Middlebury Institute of International Studies’ three-semester International Trade and Economic Diplomacy master’s program.
This academic program, beginning with intensive training and courses in Monterey, and ending with a semester in Washington, D.C., prepares students to pursue careers in international trade and economic diplomacy. Students gain a deep understanding of policy analysis and trade negotiations with coursework presented in the context of real-world and current issues.
Our graduates work with businesses, government, and NGOs on the world’s most pressing international trade and diplomacy matters.
Program Details

Students earn a Master Degree in International Trade and Economic Diplomacy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.

The first two semesters are completed in Monterey, California. The third (and final) semester is completed in the classrooms at the Middlebury office in Washington, DC.

The ITED semester in Washington, DC is only held during each fall semester.
