Academic Affairs oversees the College’s academic program, ensuring its success through programs, services, and committees that support faculty and the curriculum.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer of the College, overseeing academic personnel and resources; the Associate VPAA assists the VPAA with these responsibilities, focusing on long-term curricular development, budget issues, and staff management. The Dean of the Faculty focuses on faculty recruitment and contracts, and faculty personnel issues; the Dean of Curriculum and Faculty Development oversees course offerings for the fall, winter, and spring terms as well as the professional development of faculty; the Dean for International Programs directs the college’s study abroad programs and other international opportunities; the Special Assistant to Academic Affairs assists with the management, coordination, research, and communication of College-wide projects undertaken by the VPAA and associated administrators, including oversight of Solar Decathlon and collaboration between Academic Affairs and Student Life; the VP for Planning and Assessment coordinates institutional planning and promotes evidence-based assessment to improve institutional effectiveness; and the Dean of the College supervises programs and services designed to enhance the undergraduate experience.
