Writing, Speaking, and Learning in the FYS

These pages contain some tips on the academic work you may be doing in your seminar.  While all seminars share the Learning Goals listed on the general FYS website, different seminar instructors, in accordance with the particular content they are teaching and their own pedagogical philosophies and styles, may teach them differently.  Use your common sense when consulting the Twelve Elements of the Scholarly Essay, the Definition of Revision, and the other materials provided here; if they seem compatible with what you encounter in your seminar, use them; otherwise, follow your instructor's advice.
