Guitarist Dayve Huckett has been a performing musician since he was 12. Originally from Kansas City, he’s been performing and teaching in New England since 1980.  He has studied at the University of Vermont with Thomas Geaghon and pursued other styles with Paul Asbell. 

 

Dayve is the resident guitar teacher at the Elley-Long Music Center at Saint Michaels College (home of the Vermont Youth Orchestra) and has been an affiliate artist at Middlebury College since 2005. He performs regularly throughout the state and has 6 recordings to date, including a repertoire of original compositions.  His current projects include collaborating with  numerous area musicians and incorporating viola, flute, bassoon, french horn and cello, to his original music.  He performs annually at the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival & Middlebury College, as well as at private functions and New England music venues. Dayve is a member of the duo Purple Mountain with Hannah Rose Rommer, a 2008.5 Middlebury College graduate.
