Admissions Application Checklist
Common Application: with $65.00 (non-refundable) application fee or fee waiver. Submitted by November 1 for Early Decision I, or by January 1 for Early Decision II and Regular Decision. Note: beginning the 2013-14 admissions season, there is no longer a supplemental application.
Middlebury College only requires the common application essay. The possible topics are available on the common application website.
Two Teacher Recommendations: Allow ample time for teachers to complete their recommendations online by the deadline.
School Report and Transcript: Allow ample time for your counselor to complete the form online and return it to Middlebury with your 9th-11th grade transcript.
Senior Grade Report: Early Decision candidates should request that their counselor send mid-term senior grades.
All applicants should request that their counselor send mid-year grades by February 15. Final decisions will not be made without some form of senior grades.
Standardized Tests: Request testing services or guidance department to submit directly to Middlebury College.
English Proficiency Test: (if English is not your first language)Taken no later than December.
Please do not send copies of awards or certificates earned during your high school years.

Supplementary arts materials must be submitted by the above deadlines (November 1 for ED 1, January 1 for ED II and Regular Decision) and must be submitted online using the SlideRoom website, accessible via a link on the Common App. Supplementary material that is sent via mail will not be reviewed. As a matter of fairness to all of our applicants, Middlebury does not offer on-campus interviews. Middlebury offers to as many applicants as possible the opportunity to interview with a local alumnus/a in the applicant’s home or school community. After submitting an application to Middlebury, the applicant may be contacted by an alumni volunteer for an interview if an alumni representative is locally available. These interviews take place in November for Early Decision I applicants and January for Early Decision II and Regular Decision applicants. We do our best to interview international applicants, but due to the large number of applicants and the limited availability of interviewers abroad, we are unable to guarantee an alumni interview for all applicants living abroad. All applicants should remember, however, that an interview is not a requirement for admission, and the absence of an interview will not have a negative impact on the applicant's admissions decision. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer interviews to transfer applicants.
Due to the high volume of calls and e-mails that the Admissions Office receives in November and January, please refrain from calling or e-mailing the Admissions Office during the beginning of the interview period to request an interview. The alumni volunteer assigned to you will be in contact by phone or e-mail, so please be sure that your information is as accurate and complete as possible on the application, and check your spam folder to recover any missed e-mails. If you are living at a boarding school, we will use your school year address (as supplied on your Common Application) to assign an interview. Any mistakes may cause a delay in your interview assignment.
