Interviews

As a matter of fairness to all of our applicants, Middlebury does not offer on-campus interviews. Middlebury offers to as many applicants as possible the opportunity to interview with a local alumnus/a in the applicant’s home or school community. After submitting an application to Middlebury, the applicant may be contacted by an alumni volunteer for an interview if an alumni representative is locally available. These interviews take place in November for Early Decision I applicants and January for Early Decision II and Regular Decision applicants. We do our best to interview international applicants, but due to the large number of applicants and the limited availability of interviewers abroad, we are unable to guarantee an alumni interview for all applicants living abroad. All applicants should remember, however, that an interview is not a requirement for admission, and the absence of an interview will not have a negative impact on the applicant's admissions decision. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer interviews to transfer applicants.

Due to the high volume of calls and e-mails that the Admissions Office receives in November and January, please refrain from calling or e-mailing the Admissions Office during the beginning of the interview period to request an interview. The alumni volunteer assigned to you will be in contact by phone or e-mail, so please be sure that your information is as accurate and complete as possible on the application, and check your spam folder to recover any missed e-mails. If you are living at a boarding school, we will use your school year address (as supplied on your application) to assign an interview. Any mistakes may cause a delay in your interview assignment.
