A Holistic Process
Who you are, in the fullest sense, is what matters most to Middlebury. As a need-blind institution, we won’t factor whether you applied for financial aid into your admissions decision.
What’s important to us is who you are at school, in your community, and as part of your family, as well as your high school records, teacher recommendations, your personal essay, cocurricular activities, your individual background and story, and your unique characteristics.
Most Middlebury students ranked in the top 10 percent of their high school classes and challenged themselves with rigorous course loads and a commitment to non-academic interests.
Our campus is home to about 2,500 students, with an additional 300 studying abroad in any given semester. About 10 percent of our students are non-U.S. citizens, and many others have lived abroad before college.
