Allison oversees visiting artist performances and residencies for the college’s acclaimed Performing Arts Series and Mahaney Center for the Arts.

After studying music education and french horn at both the Crane and Manhattan Schools of Music, Allison worked as the Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s Chorus Coordinator and Assistant to director Robert DeCormier before joining the Middlebury staff in 1997.

As a vocalist, Allison has sung with numerous local ensembles and performed as a soloist with the Manhattan Chamber Symphony, Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and the Robert DeCormier Singers. Additionally, she has performed in choral works on four record labels.

Allison advocates regularly for the arts, frequently serves as an arts grant panelist, and speaks on issues relating to immigration and taxation for artists from abroad.

She resides in Hinesburg, Vermont with her husband, five year old son, and a black lab/st. bernard cross.

When asked why she works in the arts, Allison responded:

"I am continually inspired by people coming together across many miles, disciplines, cultures, faiths and beliefs through the arts. I have a particular interest in seeing the visa and taxation process improve for international artists visiting the United States, and eliminating that obstacle to global dialogue.

For me, every performance feels like world peace; achieved in 2 acts, with a 15 minute intermission."
