Director, Mahaney Center for the Arts
Liza advances the cause of the Arts at Middlebury via the Mahaney Center for the Arts and its constituent programs. She is also the point person for marketing and communications.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and Comparative Literature from Brown University, where she graduated with honors, and a Masters in Administration from Saint Michael’s College, where she graduated Sigma Beta Delta.Her graduate thesis was entitled “The Capacity of Arts Organizations to Rebuild Social Capital and Community in Twenty-First Century America.”
She is immediate past president of Arts Presenters of Northern New England, and the past president of Addison County Humane Society. She has done volunteer service for Middlebury’s Town Hall Theater, Special Olympics Vermont, the Counseling Service of Addison County, the Memorial Sports Center Expansion campaign, the “Face-Off Against Breast Cancer” Hockey Tournament, and the Vermont Council on Rural Development’s “Creative Communities” Program. She is also an actress, golfer, and hockey player.
