With sites in Ferrara, Florence, and Rome, the C.V. Starr-Middlebury School in Italy offers a wide range of environments for academic and cultural immersion.
Designed for students at an advanced level of Italian, the School in Italy provides students the opportunity to enroll directly into an Italian university, taking courses in disciplines ranging from Renaissance literature to biology.
In Florence, the flagship site of the School in Italy, students have two options: they can directly enroll at the Università degli Studi di Firenze or they can choose up to two courses at the Middlebury Sede and a minimum of two courses at the University. In Ferrara and Rome, students are directly enrolled at our partner universities, the Università degli Studi di Ferrara and the Università degli Studi di Roma - La Sapienza. All students are exposed to Italian in their daily life by living in an Italian homestay or in apartments with Italian roommates.
