Forget all that you once knew about scavenger hunts and prepare for the most packed weekend of your Middlebury experience. The Hunt is a three day competition during J-term for students to try their hands as completing random tasks compiled by the all-powerful Hunt Masters. The challenges call on historical, theoretical, mathematical, and practical knowledge; creative thinking; strong organizational skills; boundless energy and enthusiasm; and an appreciation of the absurd.
Red Bull gives you wings. What else does it give you?
How long does it take to leap frog from Proctor to Ross?
Perform a bird's courtship dance.
Thread the needle in BiHall.
Participants can form teams of up to ten students and should come up with a fun name under which they will submit any videos, materials or simple answers to fulfill clues. The more tasks or clues completed, the more points earned for that team -- with particularly imaginative solutions often earning extra points. At the end of the three days, the Hunt Masters, along with some qualified judges, will review the materials submitted by each team and determine the winner.
The winning team of The Hunt will receive $1,000 of "Middlebury Money" that can be spent at a number of local venues!
This years "Hunt Masters" are Erin Reid and Neil Steiner. If you have questions before September contact Heather Neuwirth, firstname.lastname@example.org.
