Middlebury: Thursday, March 12 Update
| by Baishakhi Taylor and Varsha Vijayakumar
Dear Students,
Sincere thanks, everyone, for attending our open office hours and emailing us the important questions you have about the evolving COVID-19 situation. Please continue to check the FAQ page, which we are constantly updating.
I am writing today to share additional updates that I hope are helpful and provide clarity.
- All students are required to fill out the housing form. Unless you have permission to stay on campus, card access will be turned off starting Sunday, March 15, at 9 p.m. If you need financial support for travel and other necessities, please email sfs@middlebury.edu.
- Please fill out this form if you only need an extension to stay on campus through Sunday.
- We will continue to update you about remote learning beyond April 5 as soon as possible. Since conditions are so fluid, we will need to assess our paths forward closer to that time.
- The SGA and other campus partners are working to provide Break Buses and other services to support students after April 5. We have recently added three additional buses for this Saturday, March 14, to the airport at 3:15 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 2:00 p.m. Check go/boxoffice for tickets.
- The Mail Center in McCullough will stay open through April 5. We will hold any packages on campus until then and will ship them to you, if needed, after April 5.
- Students who currently live off-campus and have a meal plan can continue to use the meal plan. Only Proctor dining hall will be open through April 5. We may revise this policy if conditions related to COVID-19 change in the town or area.
- Dean Carlos Velez is sending out regular updates on Schools Abroad. You can also visit their FAQ for more information.
- Information about visitors and campus and building closures can be found here.
Starting March 16, Counseling Services will move online. You can still make appointments with your counselors via Zoom. Parton Health Services will stay open. You will be required to make an appointment to visit. The nursing hotline (802-443-3290) and the 24-hour counseling line (855-465-5013) will stay open.
We understand that this is a difficult time. Please be safe and take care of each other. We still expect you to abide by our handbook policies and uphold community standards regarding alcohol and other drugs.
Student Life will have open office hours today from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the SAO office (2nd floor) in McCullough and are happy to answer your questions. Please stop by.
Sincerely,
Baishakhi Taylor
