Support for Remote Learning
| by Jeff Cason and Sujata Moorti
Dear Students:
As we enter the second week of our extended spring break, we hope that this message finds you healthy and safe. We, along with your faculty, have been preparing for remote learning, which will begin next Monday, the 30th. This brief message provides you with important information regarding the resumption of classes.
First, please be reminded that the Office of Digital Learning and Inquiry (DLINQ) has a web page with information about remote learning for students. In addition, DLINQ has student interns who are available to help you learn about and prepare for remote learning. We encourage you to consider requesting a DLINQ consultation with one of the student interns if you need assistance.
Second, so that we may be best prepared to help you in a remote learning environment, we will be sending you a brief survey that asks you about your access to the Internet and your experience with remote learning tools. Please watch your inbox for this survey and take a few minutes to complete it when you receive it.
Third, we understand that everyone is eager to know whether we are going to finish the semester by teaching remotely, or if there is a chance that you will be able to come back on campus at some point this spring. We also know that seniors and their families are wondering about Commencement. We are continuing to monitor a fluid situation and will make these decisions over the course of the next week or so, and will let you know as soon as we have made them.
Finally, we know these are extraordinary times. They are likely to become more extraordinary still. We are happy to know that we have extraordinary students like you.
Sincerely, and thank you,
Jeff Cason
