Posting Positions to Workable

In order to request a position be posted, or if you need to request a position be newly created and posted, please complete the Position Posting Request Form.

Positions can be posted either to the careers page only or they can be advertised across several platforms including LinkedIn, New England HERC, HigherEd Jobs, Diverse Education and Indeed. You may indicate your preference in the Position Posting Request Form.

Hiring Candidates

If you are rehiring an employee into the same role they held in the last 12 months, please email staffingservices@middlebury.edu for next steps.

To hire new candidates into the position:

  1. Open Workable
  2. In the Jobs section, you should see your positions that are posted along with the number of individuals in each stage of the “pipeline.” A pipeline is used to track the stages of candidates (ie., applied-interview-recommend for hire-hired). 
  3. Click on the job title or the number in the “applied” category to open the position and see applications.
  4. Find the candidate you wish to hire.
  5. Scroll down on the “candidate profile” and complete all fields in the hiring details section of their profile. This typically includes the start date, end date if term appointment, manager name, and skill matrix assessment if the position is within the graded compensation structure.
  6. Use the green drop-down action on the top right of their candidate profile and choose to move the student to “Recommend for Hire.”

*Please do not move candidates to “hired” status as this will cause a delay in processing.*

Staffing Services will then send the candidate an offer letter. The offer letter must be signed by the candidate by 11:59 PM EST on the Thursday prior to their start date in order for them to be eligible to begin work the next week.

As a reminder, all start dates must be a future Monday. All data is processed on Monday and access is given to Oracle by the subsequent Thursday or by the employee’s start date if it is more than a week in the future.

Closing Workable Postings

When you are done hiring for a position, please notify Staffing Services using the Position Closure Request form.

If you need to reopen a position, please complete the Position Posting Request Form.
