Going Greenland

What happens when you combine a renewable energy sailboat with an arctic ski expedition in Greenland for the first time ever? Athletes Rachael Burks and Jessica Baker put the idea to test and endure a both harrowing and inspiring journey along Greenland’s West coast fjords and towering mountains. 

Going Greenland is a documentary film about our connection to wild spaces and the juxtaposition of having an impact on our environment. How do we follow our dreams and passions while still living in a way that is more in harmony with our environment? Find out how Rachael and Jessica work through some of these challenges while still managing to tick off big ski lines in the remote and wild landscapes and seascapes of Western Greenland and the Greenland Ice Sheet.

Step by step. To the rhythm of Yangji’s sure and steady pace, we walk through her life journey, as she returns after many years of absence to the poor village in the Everest region where she grew up. She who turned her back on the mountain as a teenager in the hope of escaping the misery that reigns in the valley of her childhood never thought she would come back, and even less so with the title of mountain guide…

The Fabulous Life of Nancy Greene Raine

N.G.R. has spent a lifetime showing the world what it means to love a sport. As a ski racer, coach, Olympic champ, mountain-resort visionary and Canadian Senator, Nancy Greene Raine is an inter-generational household name for many Canadians. But how much do you really know about Sun Peaks’ local celebrity?

Turning 80 in 2023 and surpassing a milestone that a younger N.G.R. had never predicted, she’s left her footprint on both the resort and sport communities she’s led. Not only has she constantly empowered the next generation of skiers, she helped put Sun Peaks on the map as a world-class destination, and a welcoming community. A place where whether you’re a local or a visitor, you always feel at home. Hold on to your toques because we’re dropping in, to a masterclass in how to live life at 120 km/hour. Weave through her exciting life story at a Nancy-approved pace!

Re

Twenty years ago, Re forged her own path in the outdoor sports community as one of the few women in her field. As an action sports photographer, she is dedicated to working with and showcasing the strength and individual personalities of female athletes. Re landed the first cover shot of a woman for Backcountry Magazine. She also secured the first all-female cover shot for Skiing Magazine. She views her work as a catalyst, fostering a social shift in the perception of women athletes in popular culture.

Re has been inspiring her subjects and mentoring the next generation of female ski photographers for two decades.

CYCLES

CYCLES IS AN ALL FEMALE FREERIDE, EXPERIMENTAL MOVIE PRODUCTION ABOUT THE POWER THAT LIES WITHIN LIVING WITH THE FEMALE CYCLE. 

Cycles is a free film project produced by an all-female crew. The film showcases a group of freeriders exploring the stunning mountains of Tyrol. However, it goes beyond just action and athletic performance. The project delves into the female menstrual cycle and the transformative power of living in tune with it. 

Through an experimental and action-packed short film, Cycles portrays the four phases of the menstrual or lunar cycle. Its aim is to raise awareness among viewers about their own inner phases and provide a platform for the still-tabooed topic of the female cycle. 

Additionally, the project seeks to highlight the connection between the cycle and sports. It aims to make women more visible in the freeride sport and inspire them to pursue their dreams and goals in outdoor activities. The film also strives to enhance awareness about the significance of the female cycle in sports.

Earthside

In the spring of 2022, four athletes on The North Face team, Emily Harrington, Brette Harrington, Christina Lusti and Hilaree Nelson embarked on the trip of a lifetime. Their expedition to climb and ski epic first descents on Baffin Island, Canada became a celebration—of their accomplishments, of their friendship, and of their lives.
