Korean Program Options

Choose a program based on your language proficiency and goals of study.

  • Our 8-week immersion program is for all levels of students who want to learn or improve Korean language and cultural proficiency as rapidly as possible.
  • The graduate program is for students with superior proficiency who are pursuing a master’s degree in Korean.

Live in Language

Inside the Korean classrooms, the Language Pledge creates a solid foundation and helps students learn all day and every day, in a formal, structured setting. Summer in the School of Korean opens doors to the diverse aspects of language and culture in relation to the world and helps students to prepare for their anticipated future of Korean language study, research, and any interrelated endeavors.

Outside the classroom, students participate in organized co-curricular activities—including soccer and volleyball, cooking, Korean drum dance, k-pop song and dance, and calligraphy and painting—designed to help enhance language skills while developing cultural proficiency. There are open lectures on Korean literature, films, North Korea, and other social activities, including traditional and contemporary performing concerts in the evening. Students eat all meals with their Korean professors and fellow students, all in the language.
