PhD in American Studies Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, May 2006; Staatsexamen (Teachers' State Exam) in American and English Studies Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, 1998; M.A. (German Studies) Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, 1997. Vocational Training as laboratory assistant with major focus on Biology at Hoechst AG 1990. After she had worked and studied at Middlebury College as the teaching assistant in the German Department (1994-95) Heike Fahrenberg worked as lecturer in the English Department at UC Davis (1998-1999) and as assistant lecturer in the American Studies Department at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität (1999-2000).
Assistant to the Director, Tutor- and Student-Life Coordinator, Internship Coordinator, Qualified Administrator of the IDI. Barbara earned her M.A. (American Studies) at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz in 2010 and is currently working towards a further degree in Adult Foreign Language Education specializing in German as a Foreign Language. While being a student, Barbara worked as a coordinator for a local and an international program, sending au pairs to the United States. She was the German TA in Middlebury from 2006-2007 and supported the Middlebury German Language School as a Bilingual Assistant in 2010. She started working as the assistant for the Middlebury School in Germany in 2007 and transferred to Berlin in 2011.
