US-Ireland Alliance Scholarship
The US-Ireland Alliance Scholarship is on hold and currently not accepting applications.
Purpose
Established by the U.S.-Ireland Alliance to provide tomorrow’s leaders with an understanding about and an affinity with Ireland at institutions of higher learning in Ireland or Northern Ireland.

Award
Tuition, room and board, plus $11,000 stipend for one year of study (usually in a one-year Master’s program) at an institution of higher learning in Ireland or Northern Ireland.
Number Offered
Usually 12 per year.
Fields of Study
Any academic discipline offered in degree or certificate programs in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Candidates must have undergraduate preparation for the proposed graduate program.
Eligibility
- U.S. citizens
- Bachelor’s degree holders between 18 and 30 years of age
- High GPA (typically 3.7+)
- Selection committee’s overriding interest in applicants’ records of academic excellence, leadership, and community service
Deadlines
Nomination application deadline is in April. US-Ireland Alliance Scholarship application deadline is in September.
Application Process
To apply, you must be nominated (endorsed) by Middlebury College. This rule applies for alumni as well as seniors.

Selected nominees will work with the fellowships advisor to prepare for the final submission deadline in October.
The US-Ireland Alliance Scholarship selection committee will identify 20 finalists by early November. The finalists will be interviewed and scholars selected in November.
