Additional Opportunities for Non-U.S. Citizens

Most competitive fellowships are restricted to U.S. citizens. Some may also be open to permanent residents. A few are open to many or all citizenship types.

Grinnell College’s Scholarships and Fellowships has helpful information on scholarships for international students including a list of over 100 opportunities.

Students may also find opportunities listed at profellow.com. There is also a broad list compiled by the National Association of Fellowship Advisors.

Additionally, some universities do have funding for international students accepted into graduate study programs.
