Pre-Health Info Session II: Anatomy of an Applicant

This pre-health info session with Hannah Benz and Mary Lothrop is designed to help prospective candidates determine when/how to be most competitive in the medical school application process. This session will emphasize AAMC Premed Competencies, how to articulate your ‘why,’ and strategies for identifying strong individual letters of recommendation.

If you’re new to pre-health, you can orient yourself to the Middlebury pre-health program before attending the session by watching a short video (you’ll need to be signed in with your Middlebury e-mail) where you’ll learn about what makes for a successful pre-health student.

* Pizza will be provided, but please bring your own beverage.

Choosing Medical Schools: What makes a good fit?

Deciding where to apply requires a strategy. Getting accepted to medical or other health professional schools depends less on GPA and MCAT scores than on being a “good fit” for the programs to which you apply. But what does that mean?

Join Dr Val Bennett, Director of Health Professions Advising at Bowdoin College to learn how to understand mission fit and what factors to consider when curating your list of schools.

No registration necessary. Mark your calendars and join the Zoom session here

Virtual Situational Judgement (SJT) Pop-Up Info Session w/ Midd Alums

Most medical school applicants will need to take one or more Situational Judgement Tests (SJTs) as a component of the medical school application process. Panelists will share what SJT(s) they took, when they took them, how they prepared for the SJT, and what advice they have for future candidates.

Participants will be asked to have cameras and mics on so as to engage directly with our alumni panelists.
