Purpose

The McCall MacBain Scholars at McGill University is a full graduate scholarship that provides students with the mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and global community to accelerate their impact on the world.

Award

Full scholarships cover tuition and fees for an eligible master’s or professional degree at McGill, a living stipend of C$2,300 per month during academic terms, a one-time relocation grant, and summer funding options. Finalist and regional awards range from C$5,000 to C$20,000.

Number Offered

Up to 30 full scholarships, plus 100 finalist and regional awards. Number of awards and value depend on citizenship. 

Fields of Study

For students seeking a full-time master’s or second-entry professional undergraduate program at McGill University. 

For master’s degrees:  More than 150 fields of study across the following degree types: MA (Arts), MArch (Architecture), MATL (Arts in Teaching and Learning), MBA (Business Administration), MEd (Education), MEng (Engineering), MISt (Information Studies), MM (Management Analytics, Finance, Retail), MMus (Music), MPP (Public Policy), MSc (Science), MScA (Science, Applied), MScAPT (Science, Applied in Physical Therapy), MScAOT (Science, Applied in Occupational Therapy), MSW (Social Work), MUP (Urban Planning), LLM (Law), STM (Sacred Theology).

Second-entry undergraduate degrees include: BCL/JD (Law), DMD (Dentistry), and MDCM (Medicine)

Eligibility

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: 

  • Current students on track to earn a first bachelor’s degree by August of the year you wish to matriculate
  • Students who earned a first bachelor’s degree in the last five years
  • Students who earned a first bachelor’s degree more than five years ago, and were 30 years or younger on January 1 of the current year

You will also need to meet the minimum degree and language requirements for McGill master’s program admission.

Application Process

Application online at the McCall MacBain Scholars Program website. Seniors and alumni must be endorsed as candidates by Middlebury. Contact us by September 1 for an institutional endorsement request. You must provide a full draft application, resume and transcript for us to review. Earlier contact in the summer is recommended.
