MIIS offers a range of essential services and departments to support its mission. From Marketing and Communications, which serves as the voice of the Institute, to Facilities Services, ensuring a safe and sustainable learning environment, every aspect is designed to enhance the MIIS experience. Human Resources fosters an inclusive and supportive culture, guided by principles that prioritize student success, recognize the value of faculty and staff contributions, and promote quality and innovation. International Student and Scholar Services facilitates a richly diverse community, while Media Services, Office Services, the Records Office, and Security contribute vital support to daily operations. Elizabeth brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role as Career and Academic Advisor within the Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies Program at Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, CA.
With five years at Middlebury, Elizabeth has established herself as a cornerstone of support and guidance for students navigating their academic and professional paths. Elizabeth also serves as the District M Representative and is a member of the Compensation Committee.
In her first year on the staff council, Elizabeth has already proven herself to be an advocate for her colleagues and the unique needs of the Monterey community. Her decision to join the council stems from a desire to deepen her understanding of Middlebury’s inner workings while ensuring that the voices of her constituents are heard and valued.
Elizabeth’s enthusiasm for empowering students and staff alike is evident in her favorite Middlebury resources. As a career advisor, she champions Handshake as an invaluable tool for connecting students with job and internship opportunities. Additionally, she has enthusiastically embraced DLINQ offerings, recently participating in their AI workshop.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Elizabeth brings a unique personal story to the Middlebury community. With a decade of service in the Navy as an intelligence analyst, including a deployment to the Persian Gulf aboard an aircraft carrier, she offers a unique perspective shaped by her diverse experiences.
