Everything Smaller

Brooklyn-based dance company everything smaller, featuring, visits Middlebury for a residency April 6–8 in the Center for the Arts Dance Theatre.

 

Founded in 2002, everything smaller has performed in the Philadelphia G.L.U.E. Series, the Hatch Series, The Flea Theatre's Dance Conversations, the D.U.M.B.O. Dance Festival, and the Dancenow Festival in NYC. The ensemble shares the roles of artistic director, choreographer, and dancer among its three members, University of North Carolina-Greensboro alumni Donnell Turner, Jessica Jolly, and David Schmidt. Their commitment to working collaboratively affords the opportunity to bring three approaches to one idea.

 

everything smallershares their dynamic blend of partnering, lifts, floor work and improvisation in two master classes: on Wednesday, April 6 from 2:35–4:15 p.m., and Thursday, April 7 from 9:30–10:45 a.m. The ensemble performs work and discusses their process and product with the audience on Thursday, April 7 at 4:30 p.m. Finally, the community is invited to an open rehearsal of new work on Friday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m. All events in this residency are free and open to the public.
