Sheila Schwaneflugel

Sheila was born and grew up in Montreal, still the city of her heart. After living a few years in California, she found her way to Vermont, initially for a summer job. Thirty-plus years later, this remarkable and beautiful state is still her home. Sheila worked for several small, progressive businesses and nonprofit organizations in Vermont and in 2009 began as Coordinator, and later Assistant Director, of the School of French. The job was a perfect fit for her strong administrative background, her interest in cultures and languages, and mostly, her love of people. The School has become her professional home and her community. Sheila lives in a traditional Vermont farmhouse with her husband, son, dog and several chickens. She is an avid lover of the outdoors, of cross-country skiing in Vermont’s Green Mountains and hiking in the Adirondacks. She frequently bikes the 40 miles round-trip to her office on the Middlebury campus!
