Library Mews: Shinku
| by Leanne Galletly
Our cats have been Zoom-bombing since 2020, and it’s about time they get the spotlight they deserve. In this fun series, we will introduce you to the felines owned by Middlebury Library staff.
Enjoy cute pet photos with us and get to know the staff working in Davis Family Library. Library Mews has expanded to include all animals, but you’ll still see plenty of cats.
Name: Vera
Age: 10 years
Coloration / Breed:
Russian Blue
Place of Origin:
Lyndonville, Vermont
Adopted by:
Jamie Robertson, EWS Developer
Favorite Toy:
Laser Pointer
Special Talents:
Her special talent is to sleep all day and always getting totally cozy. (Jealous!)
Fun facts:
Vera is our legacy cat as in she has been with us since the beginning. She is probably just a domestic shorthair that has bluish gray fur, but we call her our little tsarina because she looks like a Russian Blue. She is full of attitude towards our other cats and dogs, but is a total princess when it comes to snuggling with us.
If she had a library card…
She would check out anything by bell hooks or Toni Morrison, “I’ll Be Gone in the Dark” by Michelle McNamara, and “Mindhunter” by John Douglas.
Periodically, we’ll feature a new staff pet. To keep up with this series, use the link go/librarymews/. If you were hoping to find library news, please visit go/librarynews/.
