Research and creative work at Middlebury looks different across disciplines.
When developing an independent project, talking with faculty in that department is the best first step. Research librarians can be instrumental in helping you identify resources for your work. Consider funding sources across campus that may help support your project expenses. Remember, this is a process. It can take time. Here are some resources that may help:
- Davis Family Library: Check out Middlebury’s library collections, online journals, and research guides for different academic disciplines and more! https://www.middlebury.edu/library/research
- Social Science Research Methods Online Modules: Learn about key topics such as developing a research question, how to conduct a literature review, survey and interview research, problem structuring and qualitative data analysis. - The Council for Undergraduate Research has a student section highlighting undergraduate conferences and journals, tips for networking and finding a summer research internship, and other resources. https://www.cur.org/resources-publications/student-resources/
