Writing Peer Tutors are available through the Writing Center for scheduled one-on-one appointments or during drop-in tutoring hours in the CTLR Lounge. Tutoring appointments with experienced professional tutors for more focused or in-depth support is also available.

Individual Tutoring Appointments

Students can schedule in-person individual appointments. We are currently switching over to a new scheduling platform which will be online and live the second week of the Fall 25 Semester. In the meantime, if you would like to schedule an appointment with a Peer Writing Tutor, please email Prof. Melissa Hammerle (mhammerle@middlebury.edu), Writing Center Director, and she will connect you with a tutor.

Course-Based Tutors: If your class has a course-based tutor, please reach out to them to schedule an appointment first. Check your syllabus or ask your professor to find out if you have a course-based tutor.

Break Availability: Tutoring is not available during breaks and may be limited adjacent to breaks due to tutor schedules.

Drop-In Tutoring Schedule

No appointment is necessary for our writing drop-in sessions with Peer Writing Tutors. Just come by the Writing Center, located in the CTLR (LIB 225), with your questions, written work, outlines, drafts of essays, for writing feedback, guidance, and support.

The Fall Schedule: (starting Sunday, 9/14)
Sundays, 6-10pm
Mondays, 6-9pm
Wednesdays, 6-9pm

Professional Tutoring

Limited professional tutoring appointments are also available. It is recommended you first meet with a peer writing tutor.
