Professional Tutoring
To meet with a professional writing tutor, you’ll want to plan ahead and schedule an appointment.
Professional writing tutors are available to meet through reading days in fall/spring semesters and have availability during winter term. See availability.
Professional tutoring has limited availability. It is recommended you start with our trained peer tutors. If you book with a professional tutor, depending on your needs you may also be referred to follow up with a peer tutor.
To schedule an appointment, use our online scheduler. Professional tutoring is available both in-person and remote.
You are welcome to stop by the Center for Teaching, Learning and Research (CTLR) and we can help you set up an appointment, or you can use the link above. Please schedule appointments a few days in advance or even up to two weeks ahead to ensure that you can get the help you need on a particular paper.
Be aware there are a limited number of tutoring appointments available. Please be considerate of your fellow students and do not book multiple unnecessary appointments. Students who schedule and/or cancel an excessive number of appointments at the last minute may lose access privileges to the online scheduler.
If we have no openings in the online scheduler that fit your schedule, email the below professional tutors with your availability to see if they may be able to accommodate you.
- Diane DeBella at ddebella@middlebury.edu
- Catharine Wright at cwwright@middlebury.edu (Fall semesters, only)
If we are unable to meet with you on a particular paper due to scheduling/time constraints, we urge you to schedule an appointment with a Peer Writing Tutor.
