I’m writing with an update to previous messages we’ve sent to members of the Middlebury community regarding the coronavirus. The health and wellbeing of our students, faculty, and staff are our paramount concern, and we’ll keep providing support as well as timely information as situations continue to unfold.
I wanted to reach out to all of you with information related to the coronavirus situation. Some of you may already have received country-specific information from your on-site program staff. I know this is the case for those of you enrolled in some of Middlebury’s Schools Abroad. I write to ask all of you to follow the advice you’re receiving both from your on-site staff as well as from local emergency officials.
As with all health and safety information, the language pledge is suspended so that the information below is clear. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
We are now three weeks into the spring semester and all of our students who traveled from China over the winter break are now back in classes and no illnesses have been reported.
On Friday, January 31, the U.S. government announced additional restrictions regarding travel of individuals who have been in China and are returning to the U.S.
Middlebury College continues to closely monitor developments concerning coronavirus, which began in Wuhan, China. The College is following CDC guidance, and College health officials are not aware of any active coronavirus cases on our campus at this time.
